Trilogies To Watch In A Binge

One of the best ways to unwind and relieve stress is getting in a good binge session. Sure, some people opt to head out for a night on the town, but who needs the headache and traffic that comes along with that? While popular TV shows are popular choices for an evening at home, nothing beats movie trilogies when it comes to binge watching. If you’re looking to have a movie night soon, consider adding these awesome film franchises to your list.

Jurassic Park

Usually you’d binge watch a trilogy in order, but this franchise is an exception to the rule. The original Jurassic Park is an incredible film that never gets old, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park is also amazing. The next movie in the series was Jurassic Park 3, but it’s quite forgettable and you won’t miss much by opting to round out your movie night with Jurassic World. The latter came out in 2015 and seriously did the franchise justice — Tom Hardy and Indominous rex really steal the show in Jurassic World. The Bourne Films

This series represents the film adaptation of Robert Ludlum’s Bourne novels, and it’s incredibly good. While some espionage series get predictable or boring, these are anything but. Start with 2002’s The Bourne Identity, then The Bourne Supremacy, and The Borne Ultimatum. The Bourne Legacy isn’t bad, but it doesn’t actually feature Matt Damon’s character in it, so feel free to skip it.

Captain America

If you’re a Marvel fan or you like movies packed with action, this series will fit the bill. Chris Evans has totally owned the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America, and the series has been important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. You’ll see the pieces come together as pivotal characters are introduced through the hero’s three movies: Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War. These films are excellent all around and they don’t disappoint.

The Godfather

Since the first Godfather film came out in 1972, it has reigned supreme as the best mob movie series ever. The actors in this film do a superb job, and who can forget all of the now-famous pop culture references scattered throughout? The second movie, The Godfather: Part II, came out in 1974 and saw Vito’s son, Michael, try to take the family’s business into the legit realm. The third part of the series was 1990’s The Godfather: Part III, and it showed Michael aiming to find his successor as he aged. If you’re into mob movies at all, you’re going to love these hits. The Lord of the Rings

If you don’t count the Hobbit prequel films, you can get in a fantastic movie night with the three movies in the Lord of the Ring Series: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. It was an impressive feat just bringing Tolkien’s novels to the big screen, but you’ll be floored with how well done each film is if you haven’t seen them before. If you have watched this series, then you know it’s definitely worth a second, third, and even fourth look.
