THE EXPENDABLES Are Headed To TV

The-Expendables 3

Hey, I freaking love THE EXPENDABLES movies and what Sylvester Stallone has accomplished with them by bringing so many big names together to cause crazy wild destruction and old school 80s action fun and now it looks like the franchise will be expanding to the small screen.

Stallone, along with producer Avi Lerner and Lionsgate have struck a deal with FOX to produce a new “event” series (think “24: Live Another Day”) for television.

No, we’re not going to see Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Dolph Lundgren in this spinoff, instead we’ll see a group of older, iconic hero types from old school TV shows, probably from the 80’s and we could also see some of the up and coming action stars as well. As far as the plot goes, it finds this new team heading out on a mission to stop a terrorist. I know, the plot sounds stale but give it a chance, this could be full blown action gold!

Stallone and Lerner are serving as executive producers with veteran writer/producer Shane Brennan (NCIS), screenwriter Greg Coolidge (Ride Along) and actor/writer Kirk Ward also on board.
