Happy 2016! I just received the January Sci-fi Block and I wanted to share my thoughts and some pics with all of you. First of all, what is Sci-fi Block? This is a monthly subscription service from Nerd Block that comes in a cool box full of sci-fi themed merchandise. Each box contains 5-6 items. January’s Sci-fi Block includes The Matrix, Doctor Who, Star Trek, The Iron Giant items and more!

Witness the unboxing!

The Sci-fi Block also includes the lobby cards that show you everything that you’ll be getting. The card includes an image and description of each item inside the box. There’s also a teaser card for February that will include Aliens, Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars items.

Behold the goodies!

Check out these Doctor Who stickers. I don’t think I’ll be using these so I’ll pass them on to a Doctor Who fan I know.  I’m guessing this is a $2.00 value.

I’m a big fan of Brad Bird‘s 1999 animated sci-fi classic The Iron Giant and the movie even got a well deserved Signature Edition re-release in 2015. This pin set cam in the box and I know just where they’re going.  I’m guessing this is a $2.00 value.

Up next is this Skele-Treks Star Trek “Captain Kirk” mini-figure.  This little guy clocks in at about 2 inches tall and honestly looks a little creepy. There’s no articulation and a base is included. Approx a $2.50 value.

Check out The Matrix Funk Pop! Vinyl figure. The boxes either come with Neo or Agent Smith. I got the bad guy. This is a $9.95 value.

The Terminator is representing with this T-800 Endoskeleton ReAction Figure. This is a $7.99 value.

January’s Sci-fi Block included this Doctor Who t-shirt that features his trusty Tardis. The dark grey t-shirt is thick cotton Gildan and the screen printing and art looks really good up close. These shirts would probably cost between $15.00-$25.00 somewhere else (like the mall or Hot Topic) so this is a really good deal. When you subscribe, you let Sci-fi Block know what size shirt you wear so it’s not like you’ll be getting something you can’t use. Subscribe to Sci-fi Block now!

The January Sci-fi Block had some cool items but it wasn’t my favorite since the launch in November! A monthly Sci fi Block subscription only costs $19.99. The shipping rates are as follows: ($8.75 to Canada, $9.50 to the U.S. and $12.50 Worldwide). So, for just under $30.00 (shipping included), There’s around $40.00-$50.00 of merchandise inside this month’s box. Bottom line is, Sci-fi Block still comes recommended even though this month slipped a little bit. This January Sci-fi Block has truly been Geek Tested and Nerd Approved. Subscribe to Sci-fi Block today!
