The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Natalie Dormer with Stanley Tucci, Julianne Moore and Donald Sutherland.

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.

The packaging comes with a slipcover. These Ultra HD movies all come in black keep cases which helps them easily standout from the popular blue cases that have been around since day one. The front features the artwork you see up top and the back includes movie details, some images and list of special features. Both discs also feature some matching artwork. Inserting the disc, the menu screen was simple and easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality were crisp and clear. I didn’t have any issues with the video and audio for this release. Fans will be able to experience this entire franchise like never before with the 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital HD) release. This features four times the resolution of Full HD and High Dynamic Range (HDR) that delivers the brightest, most vivid and realistic color and greatest contrast.

Bottom line is, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is the epic conclusion to this fantastic saga where the stakes are raised to the max for Katniss and the rebellion. President Snow is determined to put a stop to Katniss and get things back in order how they once were, but she and her friends have a plan to get inside the capital and defeat the sinister leader. The mission is tough and some lives are lost along the way, but in the end, Katniss captures Snow and he finally gets the karma that he deserves. The rebels ultimately liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and when Katniss sees that a threat still exists for this to happen all over again, she takes one more shot from her bow to make sure it doesn’t. The story for the finale was fun and it concluded the saga with fast-paced action and destruction that finally leads to peace. I’ve loved following these characters in this saga, well most of them. There’s some awesome special effects in Mockingjay Part 2 that also gives us more monsterous mutations. Movie fanatics that have already upgraded their home entertainment centers (screens and players) to watch 4K movies are sure to enjoy the experience, but this is also for the high-def loyalists because there’s a Blu-ray disc included for them as well. There’s also a digital copy that you can add to your Vudu library or whatever digital platform you use. The entire series is now available on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital HD) and is definitely worth checking out.
