Movie Review: ALYCE KILLS

Life takes a downward spiral for Alyce after a night of partying goes terribly wrong and she accidentally pushes her best friend off of a building.  Panicked, Alyce lies to the police about her involvement.  When she later learns that her friend miraculously survived, she begins to unravel; losing sleep, her job, and eventually her sanity.  There is only one way for her to take control… But will she stop with just one murder?

ALYCE KILLS is directed by Jay Lee and stars Tamara FeldmanJames DuvalEddie RouseLarry CedarYorgo ConstantineMegan Gallagher, Rena OwenTracey WalterBret Roberts and Jade Dornfeldwho who steals the show as the titular character Alyce.

The movie starts out following Alyce and her friend who do everything together but it takes a dark turn pretty fast when the accident happens. After that Alyce begins to lose it, she starts seeing things as the guilt begins to eat her up. Alyce thinks drugs might help her take the edge off but all that happens is she begins to hang around with the wrong crowd. We watch Alyce get cornered into some uncomfortable situations where her only answer for escape is, by killing whoever is annoying her and in a violent, brutal fashion. It’s a wild rollercoaster ride watching Alyce spin out of control by her guilt and how she handles certain things that get in her way.

Alyce takes care of her victims a little differently than what you’ve seen slashers do in other movies and this movie includes some pretty gory scenes courtesy of our titular character. She’s not a pro so she does some things that are pretty funny at times plus there’s that dreaded garbage disposal kitchen sink deal.

Bottom line is, Alyce Kills is a fun movie and watching this girl spin out of control is a bloody trip, literally. This is a psychological thriller that has a sense of humor all the way through so it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The movie will be releasing in select theaters on May 24th and will also be available on Cable VOD and for digital streaming on May 21st. Be sure you check out Alyce Kills when it drops.
