Logo Revealed For 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE

We really don’t have a pin pointed release date for 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE but we do now have a new logo for the sequel courtesy of the 300 Facebook page.

The followup to Zack Snyder‘s ground breaking 300 is directed by Noam Murro with a story by Frank Miller and stars Rodrigo Santoro who returns as Xerxes, Sullivan Stapleton as General Themistocles and Eva Green as Artemisia (the film’s original namesake), Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Andrew Tiernan.

The sequel is supposedly still releasing in 2013 and is expected to be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.

The film centers on Themistocles and Artemisia I of Caria, as well as Xerxes I of Persia. It originally went under the working title of Battle of Artemisium[4] (widely mis-reported as “Battle of Artemisia”).[4] The Battle of Artemisium was a naval engagement, concurrent with the battle at Thermopylae, and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in September 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and Thermopylae. The film will probably also focus, in part, on the Battle of Salamis, in which Artemisia played a major role, as well as possibly the Battle of Marathon.[4] Salamis was fought once the Persian Empire had advanced into southern Greece and occupied Athens.

The film will also cover some of the backstory of Xerxes, and will explain how he became “the God King” -Wikipedia
