HORROR BLOCK Review: August 2015

horror-block

Hey gang! The August Horror Block has arrived and I wanted to share my thoughts and some pics with all of you. First of all, what is Horror Block? This is a monthly subscription service and branch of Nerd Block that comes in a cool box full of horror themed merchandise. Each box contains 5-6 horror themed items. August’s Horror Block themes include Friday the 13th, The Shining, Beetlejuice, Evil Dead and more.

Witness the unboxing!

A two-sided card is included inside every box which shows you everything that you’ll be getting and a brief description about each item. This is a cool extra and a really nice touch.

The Evil Dead is representing with this cool “Notebook of the Dead” note pad that is also a Horror Block Exclusive. I’m going to leave this laying out to see if it strikes up conversation with my guests when they come over. This looks a lot cooler in person too! I’m guessing this would be around a $2.00 value.

Zombie fans will really enjoy this! Danny Trejo‘s Rise of the Zombies Blu-ray+DVD Combo Pack is included this month. A $10.00 value.

Remember the creepy twins from The Shining? Lisa and Louise Burns played the twins in the 1980 horror classic and they have autographed this picture Exclusively for Horror Block. The signed picture also comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. Priceless!

Check out this super cool Friday the 13th “Jason Voorhees” plush from Bleachers Creatures that is also a Horror Block Exclusive item this month. Did I mention this little guy looks awesome? Heck yeah! The plush figure stands around 8″ inches tall and features the trademark hockey mask and worn work clothes. There’s also an Exclusive Horror Block tag attached. A $19.99 value.

Beetlejuice…Beetlejuice…Beetlejuice! The August Horror Block included this awesome Beetlejuice “Say My Name” t-shirt from Shirt Punch that you see up top. This army green Gildan t-shirt is made of thick cotton and the screen printing and art looks really good up close. I’m guessing each shirt would cost you between $15.00-$25.00 at the mall, so this is a really good deal right here. When you subscribe, you let them know what size shirt you wear, it’s that easy.

As you can see this subscription service is pretty freaking awesome. A monthly Horror Block subscription only costs $19.99. The shipping rates are as follows: ($8.75 to Canada, $9.50 to the U.S. and $12.50 Worldwide). So, for just under $30.00, this month’s subscription estimated between $57.00-$67.00 worth of goodies inside the box. This doesn’t even count the awesome autograph included. You even get a tracking link so you can keep up with your Horror Block once it’s shipped and headed your way.

Bottom line is, Horror Block comes highly recommended for horror fans all over the world and this August box was loaded with some cool merchandise! In my opinion, Horror Block and Nerd Block are still the leaders in the subscription box service which has quickly become very saturated. All you have to do to subscribe is click on the Horror Block links or the logo at the top of the page.
