GEEK FUEL Review: January 2017

Hey gang! We’re kicking off 2017 by checking out the Geek Fuel Mystery Box for January and I wanted to share my thoughts and some pics with all of you. First of all, what is Geek Fuel? This is a monthly mystery subscription service that comes in a cool box full of pop culture themed merchandise. Each box contains 5-6 items. January’s Geek Fuel includes items from Star Wars, The Flash, The Legend of Zelda, and more.

Witness the unboxing!

The January Geek Fuel Mystery Box includes the nice oversized lobby card that shows you everything that you’ll be getting this month. There’s images and descriptions of each item included inside the box.

Behold the goodies!

This month’s issue of the Geek Fuel mag #24 has the late Carrie Fisher (Princes Leia) on the cover and a breakdown of what’s to come inside. The mag also includes a spotlight on the featured game, Ninja Pizza Girl. The mag also includes a feature for each of the exclusive items inside the box, gamer corner, cosplay, another ultimate gift guide and subscriber spotlights. See if you made it in this month’s issue! Geek Fuel also threw in a Princess Leia silhouette pin.

Quantum Mechanics is being introduced to Geek Fuel subscribers this month. Subscribers will get (1 of 4) Q Figs. I got The Flash which comes with its own popup sign that you can have a little fun with. Some subscribers will get Arrow, Harley Quinn or Mr. Freeze. This is a $14.95 value.

Up next is Ninja Pizza Girl, the downloadable steam game that Geek Fuel is offering this month. The neat thing about Geek Fuel is that they throw in a new game every month. This one is a $10.00 value and what a great title for a game!

Enamel Pin Alert! Last month we got Geek Fuel’s very own mascot that was a mashup with R2-D2 from Star Wars = Droid Edition G2F2 that came on a classic card that reminded me of the vintage Star Wars figures. This month we get a mashup with He-Man from Masters of the Universe = Robot of the Universe that comes on its own retro cool card. Some subscribers will get the rare Skele-Fuel pin and others will get He-Bot, like me. This is priceless since it’s Geek Fuel’s exclusive mascot but most enamel pins run around the $5.00 range. Like what you see so far? Subscribe HERE and when you do, you get a bonus mystery item!

Check out the jewels? Okay not really but fans of Zelda well recognize the design of this exclusive Rupee Soap that Geek Fuel threw in this month. They smell good, too! The soap even comes in their own thin cardboard chest. This is approx a $4.95 value.

Check out this awesome Rogue One t-shirt! The artwork features K-2S0, an X-Wing, and those massive AT-ACT walkers from the movie. The black t-shirt is thick cotton Gildan and the screen printing looks really cool up close. These tees would probably cost between $15.00-$25.00 somewhere else (like the mall or Hot Topic) so this is a really good deal and continues to be my favorite part about this subscription box. When you subscribe, you simply let Geek Fuel know what size shirt you wear – it’s that easy! Subscribe HERE so you can get cool tees like these plus a bonus mystery item.

Okay, the January box ended up being a cool one and I really dig the Rogue One shirt and The Flash figurine. The January Geek Fuel Mystery Box included approximately $55.00-$65.00 of merchandise and half of them were exclusive items.  A monthly Geek Fuel subscription only costs $17.90 + $6.00 shipping. Right now Geek Fuel ships to the US, Canada and the UK via USPS. They also offer a 3 month, 6 month and 12 month subscription deal that cuts down on your cost.

Bottom line is, Geek Fuel continues to be one of the premiere Sub Box services and has something fun for nerds and geeks of all ages all around the world. The box is made of durable cardboard and I always like the way everything is packaged with care.  Also, remember when you subscribe to use this link geekfuel.com/alienbee because you get a bonus mystery item. Keep your eyes peeled every month because we’re always teasing what Geek Fuel has in store next for their subscribers!
