‘G.I. JOE: RETALIATION’ Gets Delayed Until 2013

Say what?  Paramount Pictures has delayed the highly anticipated and very cool looking G.I .JOE: RETALIATION until March 29th, 2013.  The nine month delay will allow for a full 3D conversion. After the cool trailers that have been released, all of those posters and TV spots they decide to do this for 3D? Not to mention the toy line that has already began to release.

Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s President and CEO had this to say;

“It is increasingly evident that 3D resonates with movie-goers globally and together with Paramount, we made the decision to bring fans an even more immersive entertainment experience,”

G.I. Joe:Retaliation will now up against Andrew Niccol’s adaptation of Stephenie Meyer‘s The Host.

The sequel stars Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Elodie Yung, Ray Park, RZA, Jonathan Pryce,  Ray Stevenson, Byung-Hun Lee and was supposed hit theaters on June 29th.

Synopsis:
The film will feature the G.I. Joe Team coming into a conflict with Zartan, Storm Shadow and Firefly all serving under the newly released Cobra Commander. Zartan (who is last seen in disguise as the President of the United States)frames all G.I. Joe operatives as traitors and wipes most of them out in a sneak attack. Zartan and theCommander now have all the world leaders under Cobra’s control, with warheads headed towards innocent populaces. Badly beaten, outnumbered, and outgunned the Joes make a desperate plan to expose the truth and stop Cobra from taking over the world.
