Exclusive Interview: Actress Brooke Lewis Talks New Projects, Aliens And Bowling

Actress/Producer and friend of Alien Bee – Brooke Lewis sure keeps busy! When she’s battling aliens, fighting off monsters or “Vamping” out special occasions you can find Brooke bowling for a great cause! That’s right, bowing!

Brooke  created Philly Chick Pictures in 2002. After growing up and beginning her creative dreams in Philly, she moved to New York City and got her first little/big “break” playing Donna Marsala in the Off-Broadway hit comedy “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding”. She made her living acting in New York for four years, before packing it up and heading to Hollywood. Never forgetting her ties to the LOVE statue and Geno’s Steaks, she created Philly Chick Pictures to further her acting and producing career.

Check out my latest “Versus” with the always awesome Brooke Lewis. Be sure you check out and support Bowling for Boobies and remember ,what happens on Vegas stays in Vegas!  Read on below and you’ll get it!

Alien Bee – The Horror Starlets will be Bowling for Boobies later in October. You have some pretty cool people joining in this year!

Brooke Lewis – Brian, we ALWAYS have cool and HOT people on the Dread Central Horror Starlets team! J But, yes, in addition to some “old school” original members like myself and Carlee Baker, our tremendous team Captain, Sean Decker, has built an incredible ‘Horror Starlets’ 2012 team that is comprised of the returning Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever), Ashlynn Yennie (of The Human Centipede films), Allison Kyler (Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2), Brooke Lewis (Slime City Massacre), Sarah Butler (I Spit On Your Grave) and Carlee Baker (The Woman). Joining them are Natalie Victoria (DeadHeads), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie’s Halloween) and Barbara Nedeljakova (of Eli Roth’s Hostel films). This is a cause I am so passionate about! When Sean contacted me to be a part of the team in 2008, I could not have been more honored. As an actress, producer and writer, I have always been a strong proponent of anything that empowers and supports women! The Busted Foundation and Bowling For Boobies inspires me, because I have lost friends to breast cancer and I have fought with others to beat this challenging disease. Breast cancer is one fight we cannot back down from, and I am here to let women know they are not alone during this battle! Alien Bee – Tell me about Alien Dawn and your weird experience with this project.

Brooke Lewis – As we discussed privately, this was an interesting indie film situation, but I want to share it with your viewers, because it is something that happens quite often in indie films! When Sci-Fi director and dear friend, Neil Johnson, contacted me to play the role of Chiara in Alien Dawn, I was very excited! He had shot most of the film and brought me in toward the end of production, as the distributors wanted some “recognizable” indie faces in the film. We shot some great scenes and I loved my character. Many times when a film gets delivered to distribution, major changes are made. Well, some of the additional scenes did not make it into the final cut of Alien Dawn and are being used in part of another trilogy titled, “Tripod War”. The hilarious part of this whole situation is that I am top billed and have a “Special Appearance By” and I am now only in one scene! As you know, I have been getting a bunch of fan mail and inquiries from this and I hope this will clarify the situation. We are all good and Neil and I had lunch and laughed about it a few weeks ago. Neil and I are in talks for another sexy Sci-Fi flick in the near future! Welcome to the wonderful world of indie filmmaking!!!

Alien Bee – What other projects are you working on?

Brooke Lewis –  Glad you asked, because I could not wait to share my rockin’ news with all of your Sci-Fi readers! I am leaving Los Angeles next week to hit the streets of gorgeous Grand Rapids, Michigan to act in the Drama/Sci-Fi The Mourning. I am blessed that my incredible director, Marc Clebanoff (who directed me in Break and Gerald), has hired me again to act with the talents of  Dominique Swain, Michael Walton, Peter Dobson, Louis Mandylor, and Frank Krueger. The film is produced by Pepe Wolf, Michael Walton and Marc Clebanoff. Here is more info:

SYNOPSIS: Aaron returns to his small Middle America hometown, inexplicably not having aged a day since his mysterious disappearance in Desert Storm 20 years prior. Unable to speak initially, Aaron must come to terms with the losses and evolution of his loved ones in his absence. Concurrently, Aaron’s loved ones must come to terms with the reappearance of the boy who they grieved over and let go years prior. As Aaron begins to assimilate himself into the lives of his family, his best friend and his long lost lover, it’s slowly revealed that Aaron’s homecoming is not permanent. A conspiracy theorist and a mysterious angelic figure both stalking Aaron build toward a finale in which Aaron must tie up loose ends before disappearing again forever.

I play LISA  “ASS FACE”…LOL! You will have to see the film to understand¦ J

Alien Bee – You produce a lot of the projects you act in. Does it ever get stressful for you juggling acting and producing?

Brooke Lewis – Oh no, I never get stressed! Brian, are you kidding me? I am a constant ball of STRESS!!!!! J Honestly, producing is beyond stressful and there is so much time, energy and money that goes into producing, especially when you are producing projects where you are negotiating everything with agents, managers and unions! That’s why it is so important to have a cohesive team around you that you can trust. There are definitely projects, in which my acting has suffered, because I have been too focused on the details of producing. Ideally, I would just love to be acting full time.

Alien Bee – Since Halloween is getting close. Give me your top 5 horror movies.

Brooke Lewis –

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original)

Friday the 13th (the original)

Prom Night (the original)

Alien Bee – What do you do in your spare time? Any hobbies?

Brooke Lewis – Spare time? What is that, hon! J Honestly, I rarely have any between acting, producing, writing, traveling for Cons and appearances and running businesses. But, IF I have a free day, I love to go wine tasting at one of the vineyards, see a Broadway show and I cherish my time with good friends, sitting outside at a café. Or, a weekend trip to Vegas, Baby!

Alien Bee – Will you take me to Vegas? I want to play the Star Wars slots!

Brooke Lewis – Brian, I will take you to Vegas, we will play the Star Wars slots, but I can’t reveal to our readers what else we might do…”What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” 😉 LOL!!!

Alien Bee – You do some motivational speaking now too, don’t you?

Brooke Lewis – I do! And, I am really passionate about this too! I am a certified and Board Certified Life Coach and I am often hired to speak to artists and those working in creative fields. I have been giving seminars and speaking at various festivals, conventions and schools this year. I figure, who better to share and impart valuable information than someone who has been through it all?

Alien Bee – Would you like to say anything to everybody checking this out?

Brooke Lewis – Thank you for spending time with me and thank you to Brian and Alien Bee for always sharing the love and support! Please follow me at:
