THE EXECUTIONERS was written and directed by Giorgio Serafini and stars Jemma Dallender, Natalie Burn, Rachel Rosenstein, Anna Shields, Justin Fischer, Anthony Belevtsov,  Michael Santi and Fernando Soto Jr.

When four friends go on a retreat to a secluded lakeside cabin, they soon realize they’re not alone. Masked intruders try to take them hostage, but as they fight back, the friends get a taste for something more than the will to survive. Will their fate be as victim or executioner?

The movie follows Belle (Jemma Dallender), Kay (Natalie Burn), Angela (Rachel Rosenstein) and Lori (Anna Shields) who plan on having a good time at Belle’s cabin by the lake but their fun is cut short when three intruders who go by the names of Mr. Black, Mr. Red and Mr. Blue, decide to terrorize the girls to no end. What starts out as a fun weekend quickly turns into a complete nightmare for the four friends, but as the men force their will on the girls, things slowly turn in their favor and they start to fight back against this home invasion. But why is all of this happening? What they find out is that there’s a mystery figure calling the shots while they get their revenge on the men but there’s a big twist that also comes with this shocking revelation in the end. Needless to say, not everyone (men or women) lives to tell about this deadly experience but there is this one particular person who…

The front of the packaging features the artwork you see at the top of the page and the back includes movie details, more artwork and specs. The DVD disc is flat grey and features the movie logo. Inserting the disc, the menu screen was simple and easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality for this standard-definition release were really good. I didn’t have any issues with the video and audio.

Bottom line is, there’s really nothing special about The Executioners because it’s just another low budget home invasion movie but it’s okay for a one time watch. The story treaded on familiar territory with the whole girfriend’s trip to a cabin by the lake scenario that’s mixed with elements of a home invasion thriller. Jemma Dallender starred in I Spit on Your Grave 2 back in 2013 so she’s no stranger when it comes to brutal scenes in movies that features lots of nudity, violence and rape. I guess the director did an okay job with what he had to work with and the cast delivered some good performances for the most part – well, most of them did. This is an extremely violent watch so there’s some bloodshed to go along with its brutal nature. The movie does drag at times but I did like it when the girls turned the tables on the three thugs plus there’s an extra twist that comes with it that you don’t see coming. The Executioners will be available on DVD on March 27th.
