DVD Review: BLOOD, SWEAT AND TERRORS

BLOOD, SWEAT AND TERRORS is an action anthology that features nine segments that include Empire of Dirt, Awesome Runaway, Jacob’s Wrath, Flow, Express Delivery, Turncoat, Get Some, Olga and Fetch. The film stars John HannahEd Speleers and Neil Maskell and features incredible stunts performed by stunt actors from major feature films including Fight Club, Wonder WomanOcean’s ElevenThe Matrix Reloaded and 300. David Leitch (Deadpool 2 and John Wick) even shows up in a segment.

In BLOOD, SWEAT AND TERRORS, there’s no running from this fight. A lethal dose of gangsters, hit men, crooked cops and guerilla fighters are headed for the ultimate showdown…with more non-stop, bare-fisted action than one movie can handle. The hardcore double crosses, desperate missions and cold-blooded revenge are loaded into every minute and won’t end until the last bullet is fired. It will take more than courage to survive, and even the best will fall.

The packaging comes with a slipcover. The front features the artwork you see at the top of the page and the back includes movie details, some images and specs. The DVD disc also includes some artwork that matches the front cover. Inserting the disc, the menu screen was simple and easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality for this standard-definition release were really good. I didn’t have any issues with the video and audio.

Bottom line is, Blood, Sweat and Terrors is a collection of shorts by international filmmakers from all around the world and it follows the previous horror and sci-fi anthologies that Little Terrors had assembled. This release includes nine no holds barred, punch in the gut, take no prisoners segments that are full of insane action scenes and stunts with lots of blood and gore to go along with it all. There’s also some pretty cool makeup effects in a few of them. There’s a few segments that are nothing more than filler time but we get this in just about every anthology that gets released so just be warned. There’s even some familiar faces that show up inseveral of the segments so be on the lookout for them. This hybrid anthology of action and horror follows the previously released horror and sci-fi anthologies Minutes Past Midnight and Galaxy of Horrors that were also assembled by Little Terrors. You can find both of these streaming for free on Tubi. If you’re looking for something new to watch then Blood, Sweat and Terrors will be available on DVD on November 6th.
