Drew Goddard Exits Marvel’s DAREDEVIL Series For Netflix And Here’s Why

So yesterday we all found out that Edgar Wright had jumped ship from his passion project ANT-MAN after creative differences with Marvel. Early today we got the news that Drew Goddard had left Marvel’s upcoming DAREDEVIL series for Netflix and fans began to go into panic mode but hold on a minute.

Marvel has announced that acclaimed writer, director and producer Steven S. DeKnight (“Spartacus,” “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel”) has stepped in and will serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner on the 13-episode Daredevil series premiering on Netflix in 2015. Drew Goddard (who wrote the first two episodes) will stay on as Executive Producer for Daredevil as he writes and preps Sony’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 ¬†spin-off, THE SINISTER SIX.¬†So, all is well with the Daredevil project and Drew Goddard aint going anywhere any time soon, you do remember he is Joss Whedon‘s buddy don’t you?

As far as Edgar Wright goes, this went way over Kevin Feige‘s head who had gone to bad for the director but I’m sure we’ll find out who the new director is probably within a few days.
