Starring the voice talents of Fred Astaire, Jimmy Durante, Mickey Rooney, Danny Thomas, Burl Ives and many more, these favorites also feature some of the most beloved songs of the season and are sure to entertain audiences of all ages for generations to come!

Like so many others, I grew up on these classic holiday specials and now I’ll be able to continue to watch them at my leisure and enjoy the wonderful messages they spread as well as sing along with those unforgettable songs. These specials are so popular that they’ve had sequels and spinoffs as well as theie own toy lines. Plus, this is how we were introduced to The Island of Misfit Toys! I have to admit, Bumble was kind of scary when I was a little kid but the big lug definitely grew on me over the years. This Deluxe Edition features five of some of the most timeless holiday films that include Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, The Little Drummer Boy and Cricket on the Hearth plus there’s some all-new bonus features to go along with them.

The packaging comes with a thick slipcase that houses the plastic keepcase inside. The front of the slipcase features the artwork you see up top and the back includes movie details, some images and list of special features. The front of the Blu-ray keepcase features some matching artwork and the back includes movie details, some images and list of special features. The reverse sleeve features movie credits and specs. All of the Blu-ray discs are red and feature the special logos. Inserting the disc, the menu screen was simple and easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality for this high-definition release were crisp and clear. I didn’t have any issues with the video and audio.

Bottom line is, The Original Christmas Specials Collection: Deluxe Edition makes the perfect holiday home video release for the kiddos as well as the adults because so many generations have grown up watching these timeless ‘toons. These classic holiday specials bring these unforgettable characters to life in stop-motion and animation and tell their wonderful stories of hope, happiness and cheer. These five classic specials send nothing but positive messages to its audience without any kind of hidden agendas or ulterior motives to worry about and that’s refreshing, especially in the times we’re living in now where certain things are being pushed on the influencial younger audience. The Original Christmas Specials Collection: Deluxe Edition is now available on a pristine 4-disc Blu-ray set and is a must have. If nothing else can get you in the Christmas spirit, these classic holiday specials can!
