Blu-ray Review: SUSHI GIRL

SUSHI GIRL follows Fish who gets released from jail after serving six years for a diamond robbery he helped with and took the fall for. When he gets out he immediately finds himself in a very uncomfortable reunion with the other robbers that got away who want to know where he hid the diamonds.

The night he’s released, the four men he protected with silence celebrate his freedom with a congratulatory dinner with sushi served on a beautiful naked girl, the Sushi Girl!  The atmosphere is uncomfortable, gritty and as he soon finds out, very dangerous. These four guys begin to take turns interrogating him and as the night continues on and Fish doesn’t say a word, things begin to get a little nasty and he becomes a human punching bag, a human target and an open wound that can really take a beating!

Fish has to relive some old memories thanks to these guys who also just keep on creating new ways to torture the poor guy. What happens is, when you have a situation like this things usually go south and people slowly begin to turn on each other and that’s exactly what happens here as they begin to take each other out, one by one! What happens at the end was a total surprise to me but to watch these bad guys get what they deserve finally shows a certain kind of justice had been served. Lot’s of blood was lost, there’s lots of gore, bullets flying, nails being driven (and not into wood) and there’s even some comedy that really took this story to the next level! You have to love comedy that is added to a movie that is so full of the red stuff, it makes it so much better if done right!

Kern Saxton did a fantastic job with this movie but it’s the amazing cast that blows this thing out of the water! When you have familiar faces like Tony Todd, Mark Hamill, Noah Hathaway, Danny Trejo, Michael Biehn, James Duval and Jeff Fahey in the same movie you’re going to get something cool!  Saxton’s camera captures all of the magic this amazing cast dishes out all while the beautiful Sushi Girl ( Cortney Palm) lies still and takes it all in.

Bottom line is, this Sushi Girl [Blu-ray] was a really cool treat! This movie has a little bit of everything in it for any kind of movie buff and I completely enjoyed it! For the people out there who like a ton of extras like me, this one has them! Sushi Girl comes highly recommended and is available now.
