ANOTHER WOLFCOP was written and directed by Lowell Dean and stars Leo Fafard, Yannick Bisson, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Serena Miller, Devery Jacobs, Warren Bates and Kevin Smith.

A year has passed since the dark eclipse transformed hard-drinking Officer Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) into the infamous lycanthrope crime-fighter. Although the evil that controlled Woodhaven was defeated, the community is far from returning to normal. A villainous entrepreneur (Yannick Bisson) is looking to open a new brewery and revive the local hockey team, but it’s clear he has ulterior motives. With a new mayor (Kevin Smith) and the new chief of police (Amy Matysio), WolfCop has his work cut out for him when he has to save the town all over again.

Lou/Wolfcop is back on the beat and has to take on Sydney Swallows, a sleazy entrepreneur with a sinister plan to take over the small town by infecting the entire population with his “Chicken Milk” beer that comes with some out of this world side effects. Joining Lou in his fight against this new evil threat are Tina, as well as Willie, who finds a way to make his return from the dead. They have to go up against the villain’s henchmen and women to try and stop things from escalating too far out of control. One by one, they take out Swallows’ obstacles and this ultimately leads them to a battle royale with Swallows’ goon squad on ice, but in the end, Wolfcop and his friends once again save the day – or do they?

Okay, there’s a lot to like and a little to dislike about this sequel. I really love these characters and the chemistry between them. The relationship between Lou, Tina and Willie has become the heart and soul of this horror-comedy franchise because it’s almost like there’s a love triangle that’s in the works. The addition of Kat was purrrfect too because she adds a little more sex appeal to the mix and the untamed sexcapade between Lou and her is hilariously hardcore to the max. There’s also the new villain, Sydney Swallows, who causes all kinds of trouble in the small town with his “Chicken Milk” beer and his monstrous hockey team. And last but not least, there’s a great cameo by the guys from Astron-6 and Kevin Smith who shows up as Mayor Bubba. You gotta love it!

The packaging comes with a slipcover/o-card. The front features the artwork you see at the top of the page and the back includes movie details, some images and list of special features. The Blu-ray disc also features some matching artwork. Inserting the disc, the menu screen was simple and easy to navigate. The picture and sound quality for this high-definition release were crisp and clear. I didn’t have any issues with the video and audio.

Bottom line is, Another Wolfcop was a fun horror-comedy but it wasn’t quite as good as the first movie pretty much because it felt a little rushed, especially at the end. I’m gonna blame this little flaw on the writing and maybe the fact that there’s a third entry already planned and Lowell Dean had to save some ideas for that one. This would explain a few things to me. Still, the movie has its silly and extremely insane moments, all of which I freaking got a kick out of. They did raise the bar on the special effects that included gallons of blood and gore and it all looked fantastic. I also thought the cast (old and new) did a great job with their characters. I love these guys and girls and I love the raunchy and crude adult humor that comes with them! Werewolf sex anyone? Anyway, just because this second entry had a few flaws doesn’t mean it’s not a good movie, because it is and I still had a blast with it. I can’t wait to see what Lowell Dean and company come up with next for these wonderful characters. Another Wolfcop will be available on Blu-ray on July 3rd.
