Alex Kurtzman Will Direct THE MUMMY Reboot For Universal

THE MUMMY reboot has been plagued with problems but the movie just got some cool news! After losing directors Len Wiseman and Andy Muschietti, producer Alex Kurtzman has stepped up to helm the troubled project for Universal Pictures.

Kurtzman and Chris Morgan are producing The Mummy that will begin weaving together a cinematic universe for Universal based on its movie monsters properties. Now that is cool aint it!

The plot for the movie is being kept top secret for now but Kurtzman also helped with it along with his former writing/producing partner Robrto Orci and Jon Spaihts. It is said the movie will take place in current day and be much darker than the previous installments.

The Mummy has a release date of May 22, 2016.

Alex Kurtzman is also on board to direct Venom, The Amazing Spider-Man spinoff for Sony.
